The first "Senior Health Industry Expo" was held from Friday, August 2 to Sunday, August 4, 2024, at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1, Areas B and C. The expo featured three main exhibition zones: Health Care, Smart Services, and Joyful Services, with an inaugural scale of 600-800 booths.
According to Global Market Insights Inc., the market size of the silver economy is projected to reach NT$1,122 trillion by 2025, with Taiwan's silver industry alone expected to reach NT$3.6 trillion! In Taiwan, 85% of the elderly population falls into the healthy and sub-healthy categories. The future trend of the senior health industry is focused on ensuring that this 85% of seniors remain healthy, live better lives, and have their various needs met.
The first "Senior Health Industry Expo" has three main objectives: First, to drive the silver economy by creating a cross-industry alliance and supply-demand cooperation platform for the senior industry chain; Second, to enhance social participation by providing a one-stop resource platform that connects seniors to the digital society; Third, to realize a happy life by promoting the integration of senior health promotion, assistive technology, and caregiving technology.
According to Taiwan IBMI, the "Senior Health Industry Expo" is centered on the needs of seniors, identifying technological requirements from home, community, to care institutions. It gathers industries from health, ICT, digital services to finance, creating a demonstration field for senior health and technology life, facilitating cross-industry supply-demand connections, and accelerating the integration of products and services around senior living.
The expo's three main zones—Health Care, Smart Services, and Joyful Services—will feature nine major themes: caregiving technology, assistive technology, health promotion, smart home, digital services, senior Fintech (financial technology), leisure and entertainment, digital learning, and active aging socialization. The expo will also host a senior cross-industry cooperation forum, an annual selection of the best senior-friendly highlight products, and provide essential health checks for middle-aged and older adults.
